I was featured in Canada Goose Spring/Summer campaign of Nomad Capsule Collection, inspired by the spring, rain, and the island nation of Japan whose culture is intertwined with seasons. The sound of the raindrops, the smell or air, and its warmth - spring rain evokes emotions that inspire our creative imagination.
ELEMENTAL SHELTER, a film and photography to celebrate the brand’s Nomad collection in the spring rain, feature the sound artist and product designer Kouichi Okamoto and myself, shot in the wilderness of Wakayama prefecture and urban environment of Tokyo. Okamoto composed a soundtrack with his field recordings from the mystic forests of Wakayama. I performed a large-scale calligraphy piece「春霖」(shun-rin) -spring rain-, inspired by the long rainy days in the early spring: long-lasting but not relentless, gentle. I wanted to symbolize the raindrops of ‘regeneration’ falling gently straight from the sky. Campaign launched globally on April 8, 2019.
