Creative Calligraphy “Sho” Workshop – Adult Beginners: 12.06.2015 10am-12:30pm

$85.00

At this hands-on workshop session, we will explore the “creative” aspect of calligraphy to realize the expressive powers of hand-written words. We will go over the basics: how to hold the brush, how to control the brush, selected Japanese kanji characters and Japanese alphabets (hiragana and katakana), the possibilities of sumi ink and the balance between the mind and body.  You will be making your own calligraphy artwork on “hanshi”*-sized calligraphy paper. This one-time lesson is designed for a small group of beginner and intermediate level calligraphers. No prior art experience is necessary. Space is limited; early registration is encouraged.
